KU students have the opportunity to connect with community leaders, leadership trainers, and working professionals in Lawrence, Kansas through a program called Leadership Lawrence. Check out the Frequently Asked Questions below for more information.

What is Leadership Lawrence (LL)?
Leadership Lawrence (LL) is a leadership development program for working professional in Lawrence and Douglas County. Class sessions happen monthly from October 2016-April 2017.

LL is program of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce.
How does this connect to me as a KU student?
LL is inviting KU students to apply to fully participate in one class session of your choice!
What will I learn if I attend a class?
Classes are thematic and each session will cover a topic of community interest such as education, government, and civic responsibility. View full list of classes and what you can expect to learn in each class.
What are the student benefits to participating in a Leadership Lawrence session?

  • Learn what leadership looks like in a potential future profession.
  • Networking with local working professionals who are using their skills to make progress on community challenges.
What kind of working professionals will I meet?
The LL class includes up to 35 working professionals in the Lawrence and Douglas County area from a cross-section of the community, representing diversity in occupation, age, ethnicity, culture, and perspectives. Participants in the LL program have a shared commitment to develop and practice new leadership skills and a genuine interest and willingness to be involved in the Lawrence and Douglas county community.

What time are the monthly class sessions?
Each session will run all day from 7:15 AM – 5:30 PM. Lunch and snacks are provided!
